FAQ - Anybus .NET Bridge
Q:
Why can I not reach the bridge from my PLC application?
To be able to reach the bridge from the PLC the IT/.NET side will have to be initialized.
Q:
What are the default communication ports and protocols used by the bridge on the IT/.NET side?
Default the bridge uses:
TCP on port 2000 and 2001 (configuration and to establish a connection)
TCP/UDP on port 2002 (IO data communication)
Q:
I am able to establish a connection on both the IT and the OT side of the bridge but I do not get any data through. What could be the reason?
This could be because the UDP traffic is blocked but the TCP traffic is getting through (usually because of some kind of firewall setting). This will be indicated by a flashing OT led.
Q:
How do I change the transfer rate of the data?
This can be adjusted in the .NET application with the parameters "DataSendInterval" and "DataReceiveFilterDivisor". In Message Mode, the transfer rate can also be adjusted in the Excel template with the parameter ".NET to bridge data send interval".
Q:
How can I determine from the .NET application if the PLC is configured and running?
This can be determined with the callback function "Gw_BridgeStatusChanged". This function should indicate the state "OPERATIONAL".
Q:
I do not get a led indication on the OT led even though my PLC is connected, what could be the problem?
During installation of the product the OT led does not turn on because the .NET side have to be initialized before a link can be established with the PLC.
