The Anybus Configuration Manager included with the Communicator, operates on a byte based frame level configuration and lets the user configure all parts of the frame. It uses a graphical interface and eliminates the need for scripting or programming. Knowledge on ASCII and how serial telegrams are built is needed so you can successfully map your devices parameters through the Communicator to your chosen network.
The Commuicator's flexibility to be able to take almost any type of serial device, configure it without the need for programming or scripting and get it network connected has made this gateway so invaluable to system integrators.
The scenario below shows two examples of network enabling devices to Modbus-TCP. Firstly, a machine with a simple Modbus ASCII Request/Response protocol (Master mode) is connected via RS-232. The second example shows how multiple devices with a spontaneous Produce/Consume protocol can connected via RS-422/485.
See the unique way the Communicator handles any serial/CAN based protocol without the need for any programming.
