For industral devices with a CAN 2.0A or 2.0B port, HMS makes it possible to configure almost any Produce/Consume, Request/Response protocols with its flexible CAN frame building method. No proprietary configuration software is needed. All necessary configuration is performed using the Anybus Configuration Manager that accompanies the gateway.
The Anybus Communicator CAN and the included "Anybus Configuration Manager" (ACM) provides you with a flexible and easy-to-use CAN frame building environment with several ready-made CAN functions. It allows for a mixture of both Request/Response and/or Produce/Consume protocols to be configured.
The configuration video shows how you can create different CAN groups with multiple devices. The first group contains a drive that requires a Request/Response configuration. The second group contains a barcode scanner that requires a Produce/Consume configuration. Through the Anybus Configuration Manager you can see how this is easily done.
The scenario below shows two examples of how devices two different devices types requiring different configuration can be connected to a PROFINET control network. The Communicator then adapts to a pre-defined CAN network allowing data to be sent and received, but also, to act as a relay, for data on the CAN sub-network.
The Anybus Configuration Manager (ACM) is included with the purchase of the Anybus Communicator.
