Need to connect two different cells on the factory floor where HMIs and displays are connected to two different PLC systems running different industrial networks.

SOLUTION
Anybus® X-gateways™ connect any TWO combinations of fieldbus or industrial Ethernet networks. The X-gateways primary function is fast transfer of cyclic I/O data between the two networks  

  • Over 200 individual network combination gateway versions available - compatible with all PLC brands
  • Master/Scanner interfaces for CANopen, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFIBUS can eliminate the need for an additional expense of a PLC Master Controller.

Anybus gateways and networks

Connect a serial or CAN-based HMI/display to a PLC system

Connect any non-networked HMI/display via its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN interface to any fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network.

SCENARIO
Keep a well-performing, non-networked device by connecting it to a PLC control system using its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN-based interface. No need for any hardware or software changes.

SOLUTION
Anybus® Communicator™ connects to the HMI/Displays RS-232/422/485 interface and translates the serial or CAN data stream into a fieldbus or industrial Ethernet protocol. The device will then be represented as a Slave/Adapter on the PLC control network.

  • Performs complete serial protocol conversion, no PLC function blocks or programming required
