Integrate existing controllers into a PLC control system (Fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet)
Connect a non-networked controller to a PLC control system (via its serial or CAN interface)
Embed multi-network capability into a new controller series
Wirelessly access a controller for configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring
An industrial robot is usually an integrated cell of a large automation system. The robot controller cell often has an integrated network (DeviceNet for example). The cell needs to be connected to another part of the factory floor that has a PROFINET PLC control system.
Anybus® X-gateways™ connect any TWO combinations of fieldbus or industrial Ethernet networks. The X-gateways primary function is fast transfer of cyclic I/O data between the two networks

Keep a well-performing, non-networked controller by connecting it to a PLC control system using its serial RS-232/422/485 or CAN-based interface. No need for any hardware or software changes.
Anybus® Communicator™ connects to the controller's RS-232/422/485 interface and translates the serial or CAN data stream into a fieldbus or industrial Ethernet protocol. The Controller will then be represented as a Slave/Adapter on the PLC control network.

If you require integrated fieldbus and industrial Ethernet connectivity for an industrial robot, which is normally an integrated cell of a large automation system. The robot controller needs two communication systems, one “uplink” to a PLC and one “downlink” to its own I/O and local devices.
Anybus® CompactCom™ products are ready-made communication interfaces for fieldbus and industrial Ethernet, which you design in to give your controller a multi-network slave/adapter interface. You choose the form factor depending on how integrated you want the solution to be — Chip, Brick or Module.

Configure or troubleshoot a controller located inside an enclosed robot cell of a large automation system. The user needs to access the controller safely, without having to stop the operation of the system.
In addition, the user needs live data from the controller for analysis and reporting and for integration into a SCADA system.
Anybus® Wireless Bolt™ is mounted onto the controller cabinet and connects via Ethernet, Serial RS-232/485 or CAN to the controller. Using either Bluetooth or WLAN you can access the controller and its live data, all from a safe distance.

Anybus X-gateways connect SVIA's DeviceNet-based robot cells to several other industrial networks. This provides a substantial cost saving and provides clear cuts between the robot cell and the factory network.
Anybus CompactCom gives ARO Welding Controllers connectivity to Profinet-IO Fiber Optics to meet the AIDA (German Automotive Manufacturers) requirements, secondly provide EtherNet/IP connectivity and finally how to integrate their existing fieldbus solutions.
