Fieldbus/Ethernet Conformance
HMS policy is that all Anybus
products, where applicable, shall be tested and
verified for Fieldbus/Ethernet conformance. This
is normally a test done by the specific fieldbus
organisation, but can also in some specific cases
be a HMS verification done with a tool recommended
by the fieldbus organisation or with help of reference
customers. The reason for this certification or
pre-certification is that HMS want to verify that
all modules follow the specification of the different
fieldbuses and that our embedded modules will pass
a product certification done by our customer, using
our embedded module as the fieldbus interface.

Most fieldbus organisations have third party test labs to test and verify that
each fieldbus product is compliant with the standard and follow the interoperability
expectations when used with other vendors products. HMS works closely with each
organisation to make sure that all our products meet the specifications and pass
each test. HMS has made over 100 fieldbus Conformance Certifications tests for
HMS products as well as helping our customers to get a fieldbus conformity for
their products.
CE & UL Certification
Anybus
and CE mark
The CE mark has its origin in the European Community. Since 1996 it is a legal requirement of all electronic products used on the European Market. For Electronic/Electric products the EMC directive (EMC = Electro Magnetic Compatibility) is mandatory for end customer products.
Anybus is viewed as an embedded component, and as a component the CE mark is not mandatory. However, the HMS policy is that the product shall be pre-tested according to the CE requirements. This makes the use of Anybus much easier and more reliable for our customers; due to the fact that the module itself is pre-tested
HMS has the equipment to perform some of the required CE test in-house. For the remaining test we use professional external EMC test laboratories.
Anybus
and UL Marking
The Anybus Embedded product range has been UL and cUL recognized by UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc). The tests have been performed according to the standard for industrial control equipment, UL508, with Anybus being regarded as a component in the Programmable Controller category. The fact that Anybus is UL recognized simplifies the integration of Anybus to products and applications that are or will be UL listed. A UL approval means that UL has tested and evaluated samples of the product and determined that they meet the UL requirements. In addition, products are periodically checked by UL at the manufacturing facility to make sure they continue to meet the UL requirements.

Where possible HMS provides PDF
"Declaration
of Conformance" certificates for all Anybus products. The certifcates are
listed under each specific Anybus product in this section of the website.
