Anybus Communicator
The Anybus® Communicator for Ethernet/IP allows the user to take almost any serial device and have it communicate to a Ethernet/IP network. The Anybus® Communicator is conformance tested to current Ethernet/IP specifications guaranteeing network compatibility. It acts as a device adapter on the network and presents the serial data to the master controller as easily processed I/O data.Serial Applications
The Anybus® Communicator supports RS232, RS422 and RS485 serial electrical formats without any change in hardware. This allows for connectivity to a broad range of serial devices. Typical serial applications include variable frequency drives, sensors, actuators, human machine interfaces, barcode readers, RFID readers and industrial scales among others.
Configuration
No high level programming skills are needed to set up the Anybus® Communicator as configuration is accomplished using the free, easy to use Windows™ based ABC Config Tool. The ABC Config Tool can be used to configure serial master protocols such as Modbus or other query-response based protocols. Configuring a Modbus application is as simple as running the embedded Modbus Wizard in the ABC Config Tool. The Anybus® Communicator can also be easily configured to consume or produce dynamic serial data strings.
Ethernet/IP Connectivity
With a broad range of devices supported, the Anybus® Communicator for Ethernet/IP provides the user with one of the most comprehensive solutions for solving Ethernet/IP to serial connectivity. In order to optimize the user experience, HMS provides free worldwide technical support for all of its products.
