Anybus-S - Drive Profile Development Tool

Customize your Anybus interface to your specific drive!

Until now it has always been necessary to make custom specific projects if the enhanced Drive Profile functionality was desired. But with Anybus-S with Drive Profile this is no longer necessary due to the comprehensive development tool that is available.



The tool makes it possible for a drive developer to customise the communication card to the drive in question. The output of the tool is a raw data file that can be included into the drive itself. By powering up the drive the configuration will automatically be uploaded to the Anybus module which is then fully customised for the drive it is embedded in.

The configuration file contains information for all fieldbuses included in the project, meaning that the drive software is the same irrespective of which fieldbus it is going to be equipped with. This important feature also enables the drive manufacturer to stock only one communication card per fieldbus, even if several types of inverters are capable of using the Anybus cards. It is off course also possible to buy the Anybus modules fully configured directly from HMS.

Included EDS/GSD File generator
The Development Tool also contains an EDS/GSD file generator. This makes it posible for the drive manufacturer to automatically create a customised EDS or GSD file for his project. This file is used by the configuration tool of the fieldbus.

Drive Profile Emulator Tool
Bundled with the Development Tool is a drive emulator which facilitates testing and evaluation of the Anybus-S Drive Profile series. The tool is a windows based program that can interface both serial and parallel Anybus-S Drive profile modules. By using this tool it's possible to set-up and evaluate a complete system without any software design. The tool can also be used as a reference system during design.
