New serial to EtherCAT gateway provides instant connectivity via any serial interface!

HMS releases Anybus Communicator Serial Gateway supporting the EtherCAT industrial Ethernet protocol.
Anybus Communicator EtherCAT
The new EtherCAT gateway is the latest member of the Anybus Communicator family. The new product connects automation devices via their serial RS-232/-422/-485 interface to EtherCAT. The Anybus Communicator family now supports 14 fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks providing external network connectivity to all kind of automation devices. Typical applications include drives, weigh scales, sensors and actuators.

The Anybus Communicator for EtherCAT is an intelligent gateway. For the protocol conversion between the serial interface of the automation device and the EtherCAT network, HMS provides an easy to use configuration tool and no programming is required.

HMS listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange!

HMS has finalized a successful Initial Public Offering and has been listed on OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

HMS at the OMX exchange StockholmHMS has planned for the listing on the main list of the Stock Exchange in Stockholm for several years and the organization has step-by-step been strengthened to comply with the demands of a public company.

"The listing does not have any effect on HMS daily business and we will continue our strategy to expand our Anybus embedded and gateway products. The high demands of being listed on the Nordic Exchange gives additional proof of quality in HMS for our long term customer relations, especially for our large global customers in our embedded business. Our commitment to continuous improvements of all areas of our operations, has given HMS the profitability and cash flow to fund our long term investments in technology, quality and efficient manufacturing. If necessary, we now also have access to the capital market as a listed company", says Nicolas Hassbjer, CEO of HMS.

In the successful IPO the Private Equity Fund Segulah sold the majority of their holding. Nicolas Hassbjer and Staffan Dahlström remain as main shareholders in HMS with 30% of capital and votes. Employees and board members hold 2,5% and additionally 5% through stock options.  

The offer price was set at 74 SEK per share, giving HMS a market cap of approximately 85 Million €. At this price level the offer was subscribed more than three times. The total number of shareholders at the listing was approximately 3,000 and the international ownership by selected small cap funds was approximately 30 percent.

"I am delighted that the interest for our listing has been so strong. We welcome our new shareholders and look forward to a long term development of HMS as a listed company", says Nicolas Hassbjer", CEO of HMS.

IEC LogoIEC acknowledges 18 different industrial networks as IEC standards.

The new IEC 61158 standard now comprises of 18 different industrial network specifications.

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a non-profit, non-governmental international standards organization defining international standards. IEC 61158 is the designation of a series of standards of networks for industrial control applications. IEC 61158 previously defined 13 different industrial fieldbus and Ethernet networks. Now IEC 61158 has been updated. The new edition acknowledges 18 different industrial networks as international standards among them Fieldbus Foundation, Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, EtherNet/IP, P-Net, WorldFIP, Interbus, CC-Link, HART, VNETIP, TLNET, EtherCAT, Powerlink, EPA, Modbus and Sercos.

The development in IEC standardization underlines the need for different networks optimized for different applications within the fragmented industrial automation market.

Anybus CompactCom for Profinet now available!

HMS releases a plug-in Profinet IO module for the Anybus CompactCom product range

Anybus CompactCom ProfinetAnybus CompactCom is a family of plug-in fieldbus and industrial Ethernet modules for industrial automation. The new Profinet IO module complements the product family with a powerful solution for instant Profinet IO connectivity.

The new module incorporates the complete functionality of a Profinet IO device (slave). It supports Profinet IO Real-Time communication via standard 100 Mbit Ethernet cables. The functionality further includes industrial IT-functions such as an embedded web server and FTP-server, an E-mail client and a full featured TCP/IP socket interface.

The Anybus CompactCom family provides device manufacturers with interchangeable connectivity solutions for many important industrial networks among them Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, CC-Link, Modbus-RTU, EtherNet/IP, Modbus-TCP, Profinet IO, RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, USB and Bluetooth. HMS is continuously extending the Anybus CompactCom product family with new versions. The new Profinet IO module will begin shipping from December 2007.

New AS-Interface master version with "M4" functionality!

HMS releases a new embedded AS-Interface master communication module

Anybus ASI M4 Master The Anybus-M AS-Interface master has now been upgraded to support the very latest AS-Interface functionality standard. This latest update supports AS-Interface specification version 3.0 revision 1 with the AS-i functionality profile M4.

The new Anybus M4 master is fully certified by AS-Interface and is backwards compatible with the previous 2.1 version. The M4 version includes features such as, extended slave support and analogue value process support. It connects up to 62 slaves and has a maximum of 2108 Inputs and 2048 Output signals. This latest version M4 is the highest level of functionality available for an AS-Interface master. HMS will start to ship the M4 version in December 2007.
