New gateway generation simplifies system integration
First versions connect Modbus TCP to Profibus, DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP.
 With the new Anybus X-gateway for Modbus TCP, HMS presents a brand new generation of gateways. With slim housing, web-based configuration, easy cable connection and an SD card slot for easy module replacement, the new gateways are designed to make life easier for system integrators and end users.
The first versions enable communication between Modbus TCP (widely used within process automation, measuring, sensors and actuators etc.) and PLC networks on Profibus, DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP.

New Modbus TCP 2-port module eliminates external switches
 The new 2-port version of Anybus CompactCom for Modbus TCP is not only a fast and easy way for industrial device manufacturers to achieve connectivity to Modbus TCP, it is also a way to reduce the need for expensive external switches and cut down on factory wiring since the module comes with a built-in switch of its own.

Accelerated growth of industrial Ethernet AND fieldbusses

The latest trends confirm an accelerated growth for both industrial Ethernet AND fieldbus networks. In 2010, nearly twice as many network-enabled devices were installed as in 2009.
Industrial Ethernet networks like Modbus-TCP, Profinet, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT show growth rates of more than 50% and interestingly, also fieldbus networks such as Profibus, DeviceNet or CC-Link report a significant growth of installed nodes during last year.

Gateway product guarantee extended to three years
 In line with HMS's continuous work with quality and product improvements, we are happy to announce that we now extend the guarantee on Anybus gateways to 36 months (previously 24 months).
The new guarantee applies to all gateway products delivered from HMS as of January 1st 2011. Previously delivered products are subject to the 24-month guarantee.
