Focus on Industrial Ethernet!
Visit the HMS Booth at Hannover for an in-depth discussion about Industrial Networking and Ethernet trends and developments. Meet our specialist team to discuss your individual product requirements!
A key theme at the HMS booth this year is the current and future direction of industrial Ethernet. HMS is at the forefront of Ethernet technology and has prepared a specific area on the HMS Hannover stand to explain the current situation and the likely future direction of industrial networking.
Are you confused with all new trends and technologies for industrial Ethernet like embedded switches, standard or modified ethernet, daisy-chain installation, rapid spanning tree, gigabyte Ethernet and many other things, people are talking about?
Make a stop at the HMS booth and our qualified sales and support engineers will be available for a discussion about what is going on!

HMS releases 19 new gateways to enable connectivity to EtherCAT!
HMS expands the X-gateway range by adding 19 new combinations to inter-connect industrial networks to EtherCAT.
Anybus X-gateways, a family of over 180 different network to network industrial gateways, has now been expanded with 19 new EtherCAT versions. Now, it is possible to link EtherCAT with many other fieldbus and Ethernet networks such as Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, Modbus-RTU, Modbus-TCP etc. The gateways provide a transparent path for I/O data between any two networks and thus can interconnect PLCs from all leading PLC manufacturers; among them Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Phoenix Contact, Bosch, Moeller and many more.

CLPA announces "Gigabit" Industrial Ethernet
Industrial Ethernet leaps forward with a ten-fold increase in communications rates to 1Gbps (gigabit per second) with the release of a new open communication standard "CC-Link IE"
The CLPA organization has recently announced "CC-Link IE" (Control and Communication Link Industrial Ethernet), the first completely integrated Ethernet with a one gigabit/sec transfer rate.
CC-Link IE enables seamless data transmission from the information network layer to the field device layer. This is what the CLPA calls an integrated industrial network, and CC-Link IE implementation provides a cost reduction for the total system engineering task, from system start-up to maintenance.
CC-Link IE is specifically developed to use gigabit Ethernet over optical fibre. Optical fibre provides sufficient bandwidth to carry signals and added benefits such as resistance to electromagnetic interference and a cost and weight reduction compared to copper wire cabling. In addition to the control data transmission, it enables information processing data transmission such as equipment control, maintenance and device setting diagnostics for improved collaboration and productivity.

Anybus CompactCom without housing now standard!
HMS introduces Anybus CompactCom without housing as a standard
product-line, to maximize intergration flexibility for OEM manufacturers.
As a complement to the already widely used plug-in Anybus CompactCom communication modules with housing, HMS is now offering the complete Anybus CompactCom range of interchangeable plug-in modules also without housing.
Without the plastic housing, the Anybus CompactCom modules are even smaller so that they fit in smaller automation devices. HMS provides fastening kits for easy fastening of the modules on the carrier board. The CompactCom modules support Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus-RTU, Modbus-TCP, CANopen, CC-Link, RS-232, RS-485, USB and Bluetooth. More versions are under development.

Continued strong organic growth in 2007

HMS reported an increase of net sales to €29,9 million ($43 million), corresponding to a growth rate of 18,5%. Adjusted for negative currency effects sales grew by 21,8%. The strongest growth rate was achieved in Germany and China.
During the last two years HMS has executed a growth plan with significant investments in development and manufacturing. In line with this plan, HMS has also carefully recruited 55 new skilled employees. Total number of employees increased to 155 by year end 2007.
"We have now completed a considerable strengthening of our organisation and relocation of the entire Swedish operations. This has a short term negative effect on profitability, but gives us the right conditions for a continued growth and improved service to our customers", says Nicolas Hassbjer, CEO of HMS.
