Description
HMS Industrial Networks Inc. is a market-leading manufacturer of Industrial Networking products. HMS is headquartered in Halmstad, Sweden, and has sales and support offices in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Japan, China, Denmark and India. HMS Industrial Networks Inc. is seeking to fill the Inside Technical Sales position in its Chicago (Loop) office.
This position primarily involves sales and support to companies involved in Industrial Automation. The main responsibilities for this position include: inside telephone sales and direct customer contact; answering pre-sales technical questions; lead management and follow up activities; development of new customers through marketing projects; sales support for outside sales managers; technical support; and assisting systems integrators and plant managers working with our products. This position requires a unique combination of technical aptitude and sales savvy. The candidate will apply his or her solution selling skills to help customers decide which HMS products and services best fit their applications.

Requirements
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and possess exceptional communication, customer relation, and organizational skills. Clear and concise written and verbal skills are needed to convey technical concepts. It is also essential to be detail-oriented and to possess strong time management skills.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in technical sales or applications engineering within the industrial automation industry. This includes basic knowledge of PLCs and manufacturers, drives, HMI, I/O, instrumentation, robotics, sensors, and other devices used in industrial control systems.
Knowledge about industrial networking would be considered a big plus. Examples include:
- Fieldbuses (DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, ControlNet, CANopen, CC-link)
- Industrial Ethernet (Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT)
- Proprietary networks (Modbus+, Data Highway +, Remote I/O)
- Serial communications (Modbus, DF1, ASCII)
- Configuration software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
Additional required skills include:
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- CRM software (MS-CRM, etc.)
