Two categories of Anybus Gateways for connecting Robot Controllers:

Anybus Communicator - Serial to Fieldbus/Ethernet
Most robot controllers have a serial port for set-up and local communication to a PC. The Anybus-Communicator connects the serial port of the controller and translates the data communication from the serial port and converts data registers in the format required for the selected fieldbus networks.

The serial communication and the data mapping is user configurable by using the software Anybus Config Tool. Read more
