Wireless Radio Gateways using Anybus Technology

The 105U-G Wireless Gateway from Elpro Technologies from Australia use embedded Anybus technology to provide a wireless interface between various data buses used in process and automation applications.

Elpro Gateways provide a Wireless connectivity between different Fieldbus protocols - Profibus, Ethernet, Modbus, DF1, DeviceNet, Modbus Plus. They also interface between Wireless I/O and DCS/PLC/HMI and at the same time provide a Wireless isolation firewall for data bus extension.

The 105U radio protocol is designed for very efficient radio usage, with configurable communications based on event reporting (I/O change), update times and/or poll response. Other features are:

All software for configuration of the units is available free of charge and installation guides, software, manuals and individual test certificates are supplied with each delivery.

Radio ranges vary according to local regulations but in Europe ranges of over 5 km are typical licence free and over 30km if the user uses a radio licence.

Each of the units has 8 digital I/O built in. These can be used to offer extra alarms such as bus failure, or can be triggered by activating bits from the serial bus or over the radio

Multiple power supplies are available on each unit, including AC, DC and battery. (battery regulators are built in to allow radios to operate and alarm should main power supply fail.

No master unit is needed in any Elpro radio system. All radios are Peer-to-Peer meaning should any part of the network suffer a power outage all other units continue to function normally.
