HMI's and Embedded Anybus
technology
Today communication is a key function for almost
any HMI. It can be communication to a PLC it is
connected to, or as a field device on a Fieldbus
or Industrial Ethernet network
Connected to the PLC . When connected
as supervisory system, the HMI normally communicates
in a mode where the HMI can access a wide range
of data registers inside the PLC. This is normally
done via propriety protocols, over serial or Ethernet media.
An HMI device can be connected as a field
device, displaying production data and are then installed
along a production line. When used as a field
device, the PLC is normally master over the HMI
which operates as a Slave/Adapter on the Fieldbus.
HMS offers several different Embedded Anybus products
for HMI applications:

Anybus-M
Master/ Anybus-S Slave
The Anybus-S and Anybus-M family of interchangeable
communications cards are designed to allow one design to use either slave or
master communications, something that is very useful in HMI applications. Anybus-Slave/Master,
gives customers the freedom to select almost any Fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet
to provide uplink and downlink communications to the HMI. Read

Anybus-CompactCom
HMS' latest product development is a high functionally but low-cost
embedded unit that integrate the complete communication technology, hardware
and software, into a compact unit. The Anybus-CompactCom interchangeability gives
manufactures of small HMI maximum flexibility and after one “design in” their
product can support all major networks. Read

Anybus-PCI
The Anybus-PCI cards are built on the Anybus-S and Anybus-M family of interchangeable
communications cards, but formatted to fit a standard PCI slot, a common
platform for HMI's. If your HMI is an Industrial PC with hardware
support for PCI cards, the Anybus-PCI gives you access to the popular fieldbus
systems, either as Master or Slaves. Read
